“Workplaces need to offer experiences that can’t be replicated on Zoom calls in order to attract people to come back in.” This principle underpins the design process as articulated by Domino Risch of Hassell Studio in her interview in Indesignlive.
This workplace is conceived as a space that celebrates social and collaborative interaction and is designed to bring people together, build social capital and reinforce culture. At Hub Flinders Street, the overriding features are about promoting a sense of well being through various elements = good natural light through the central atrium, the external terrace, biophilic design principles which include the natural colours and textures of timber, concrete and Tretford Tile in Dapple Grey in the meeting rooms and Custom Rugs in Silver Birch in the common meeting and eating areas.
