Polders within the Flemish landscape is a typical sight as well as being the most fertile regions in the country, making it perfect for farming. Before you see the crops emerge, you get to see an iconic view of high ridges and deep furrows, creating some kind of sand sculpture. Polder was inspired by this repetitive linear pattern.
