Nature-Inspired Design for a Modern, People-Focused Workplace
The redesign of Targobank’s office was driven by a clear vision of creating a workplace that moves with the times. Architects LESON GmbH set out to deliver a space that fosters collaboration, sparks connection, and reflects the way Australians increasingly want to work today. Inspired by the natural environment, the design puts people and wellbeing at the centre without sacrificing style or practicality.
Design Intent: Where Nature Meets Modern Office Culture
From the outset, the goal was to craft a space that feels open, organic, and harmonious. LESON GmbH translated this vision into a design language shaped by natural forms, earthy colours, and smooth transitions. The result is a workplace that flows like the natural world—calm, cohesive, and always evolving.
It’s a space that supports conversation, creativity, and quiet focus all at once, much like the balance Australians seek between productivity and lifestyle.
Flooring as a Design Statement
In this project, flooring wasn’t just a backdrop; it became a defining feature. Acoustic performance was critical in the open-plan layout, but the visual impact was equally important. modulyss Carpet Tiles from the ARTCORE Collection were used to subtly define zones and pathways, guiding people through the space without the need for rigid markers.
Organic patterns and gentle colour gradients create intuitive zoning, collaboration areas, quiet corners, and shared spaces without breaking the visual flow. The seamless transitions and soft curves reinforce the organic design concept, elevating the workplace beyond the brief.
Wellbeing Built Into Every Layer
Every design choice was made with wellbeing at the forefront of mind. Warm tones and soft textures in the flooring bring a sense of comfort and calm, essential in a fast-paced work environment. The result is a workplace that feels balanced and welcoming, encouraging focus, interaction, and ease from the moment people step inside.
Designed with Flexibility in Mind
Modern Australian workplaces demand adaptability, and this redesign delivers on that expectation. Flexible room dividers, modular furniture, and versatile flooring allow the space to shift effortlessly between solo work, team collaboration, and spontaneous catch-ups.
The flooring strategy underpins it all, enhancing acoustics, unifying the look, and enabling the flexible layout to shine. From concept sketches to installation, every detail was aligned with the project’s aesthetic and functional goals.
This wasn’t just about choosing the right product. It was about collaboration, creativity, and a shared vision. The result is more than an office; it’s a workplace where people feel good, work well, and stay inspired.
